Tulum in Yucatan “was” a small paradise. When I was there its been a backpackers paradise with perfect beaches and a laid back atmosphere. When going back in 2018 its been shocking how a place can be destroyed by both tourism and global changes. The place is full of small hotels that do not let you access the beach and unfortunately a current coming from somewhere around the amazon brings tons of seaweed that smells and looks horrible. Sad.
